A few quick things:

Turkish Boating Excusion = Good (aka way better than Australian boating excursions)
Our Group for Said Boating Exscursion = Very Good
Our Captain's Cooking Skills = Good
Our First Mate's Sketchy Factor = Very High
Our Treehouse Night in Olimpos = Sweet
Neal's BO = Very Bad

Anyway, due to the 44 degree celsius temp, I am going to go drink a cold beer, and then hop the bus for Cappasomething to see where they filmed the desert scenes in Star Wars...and some other shit. After that who knows, but I will certainly make time there for an in depth description of our Boating Adventure, the exceptionally cool folks we have met and our wacky fucking antics since then in the next day or so....

Tommorow we head off for 4 days and 3 nights aboard a small sailboat for a journey from Fetyieh to Olimpos along the Med coast of Turkey...as you might imagine we are a bit happy to be jetsetting about the riviera. Oludeniz has been a welcome respite from the constant movement we had been dealing with since Istanbul's 5 day rest. We went diving yesterday, and it was less than impressive. Not sure I can see the value of having 30 - 40 meters of visibility when there ain't a goddamn thing to see. All said though, it was still fun to get back under the water again. We seem to have found our way off of the package tourist route again, which is a welcome relief, and the boat trip should be even more of that. The boats are generally packed with backpackers and are known to be the highlight of many folks trips through not only Turkey, but Europe as well. We will then head north to Cappadochia if all goes according to plan, and then head back in the direction of Istanbul...in fact, we may even step up our arrival in Europe proper a few days.
As for Turkey, it is a nice mix of freaks and the bright orange package tourists from the Brisitsh Isles...you can spot them generally from about 300 yards off. We have also noticed that, for better or worse, we can pretty well pass for Turkish...not the best for striking up conversations with western women, as the turkish men have a mixed reputation at best. I suppose that is it for now...it's hot, I'm hungry, and inspiration isn't what it should be...the usual. So long for now, and more from our next solid destination.

By the way........

I HATE TARKAN!!!!

Well, the day was as nice as one could hope. Although I intended to glide from a mountaintop and then plunge to the depths of the Med, it didn't quite work out, but paragliding (not parasailing mi mama) was quite the blast although at times I came close to reverting to form as yark boy...The whole thing lasted probably 45 minutes and Neal and I were so close at times that we could converse at 1500 meters...kind o' freaky.
After that we took some time to let the belly settle and then met up with two school teachers from East Palo Alto we had met on a bus last week that we bumped back into and had a nice meal of seafood, just so we won't be able to see any good sealife on our dive this afternoon. Speaking of which I should go do that, more later..
