Okay...take two.
What I was trying to explain before senor barksdale et all mussed me up is that all things considered the flight over was pretty cush. We had "O'Brother Where Art Though" as our first flick and then a nice dose of sleepers to put us each out for a good 4 to 6 hours...all in all not too bad for 12, 13, 14 hours.
Auckland is really beautiful and I can only imagine that the south island is truly mind blowing. By the way, did I mention our run in with a Groucho Marx lookalike at LAX (actually I am not sure I could explain it even if I was so inclined...)
By the way...still trying to work out the kinks out with the attaching images thing...soon enough.
Anyway...alls well....haven't decided to stay yet, but it can only be a matter of time.
Shamalamalamadingdong....
Well that sucks...I just wrote a nice long spew about our flight and Auckland and fucking Netscape ate it....I hate to endorse Microsoft, but I've said it once and I'll say it again "NETSCAPE BLOWS"

Two days and counting...and only minor anxiety attacks. We dealt with a minor screw in our Rail passes for Europe, and while doing so it occured to me that I have spent maybe all of ten minutes thinking about that portion of the trip. It seems so far away it is rather difficult to get excited for. Don't get me wrong...I am excited, it just occurs to me that the scope of this trip is fucking huge. Anyway, just an observation.
Another note...if you want to reach me please feel free to drop me an e-mail at:

Anyone who sends their address has a 1 in (insert figure here) chance of getting an actual postcard...exciting....

It approaches. Like a really big sneeze that builds for a while, then settles, then builds...ahh you get it. Anyway, after nearly (well more like actually) missing my md appointment this AM, I had to rush to get the final in a long series of Hep B shots. Things went well as I am now 2/3 protected from the disease, or so my warped logic would work (don't worry, I know as well as the rest of you that I am full of shit). I also concluded that leaving is always a good thing when you have ingratiated yourself to people. They seem to like buy you stuff and stuff....cool. Spent yesterday evening drinking warm mulled wine and eating middle eastern with the good folks from Bravo (that place they paid me to show up and work...okay well not exactly work) and finished it off with some nice hooka action...and no that isn't the pay for play variety that the cab driver was referring to.
Tonight I ate a grand meal with Andrew and Jillian (I sure hope I spelled your name correctly) as they were kind enough to treat me to a chow at a very shmancy wine bar. Now that I feel fatted like some sort of calf, especially after the bananamisu (which is exactly what it sounds like...and is as good as it sounds) I am off to lull myself to sleep enjoying my last few evenings of Los Simpsons.
A few minutes later....
The quote for today:Sung to the tune of some Barry Manilow song "Oh Marge...you came and you found me a turkey...on my vacation away from worky."

Well, Neal arrived last night...later, tired, but intact. Now we have a week or so to finalize our preparation and spend too much cash. We're not yet sick of one another, but give it a few hours..we will.
